Texas A&M Head Coach Jimbo Fisher Says Only One Of 11 Early Enrollees Have NIL Deal’s

Jimbo Fisher, the head football coach at Texas A&M, spoke with KSAT 12 about the current controversy surrounding allegations that the Aggies football team used the new NIL regulations to recruit players.
In regards to recent NIL buzz, Fisher mentioned, “I just researched this. Of the 11 guys we have in place that came early? One guy has an NIL deal. So all these stories you’re hearing are complete lies.”
Alabama head coach Nick Saban upset Fisher last week when Saban spoke to an Alabama business group, saying, “A&M bought every player on their team — made a deal for name, image, likeness. We didn’t buy one player, all right?”
Regarding how quick the Saban news traveled, Fisher was quick to comment on how quick people are to believe everything they see on social media.
Fisher asked the interviewee, “I’m asking you, did you do your research? No, so you just assumed. And that’s the way this world goes now. As soon as it’s written on social media and someone says it, you believe it. So where does that put you guys as reporters?
