Following a major road victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Todd Downing reportedly was arrested early Friday morning for an alleged speeding violation. The arrest reportedly took place in Nashville, Tennessee.  Coach Downing was pulled over by police in Williamson County along Interstate 65, near Moores Lane which is about 15 miles (24.14 kilometers) south of downtown Nashville.

According to the police report, Downing allegedly reeked of alcohol after being pulled over by a state trooper that was patrolling the area at around 2:30 in the morning. The coach was booked at Williamson County Jail. The process began at 4:36 a.m., and Downing later posted bail at 6:46 a.m.

“We are aware of the reports regarding Todd Downing and are in the process of gathering additional information,” the Titans said in a statement. The National Football League reportedly has contacted the Titans on Friday, reminding them that even coaches are subject to potential discipline for personal conduct policy violations.

Downing’s offense had its best showing of the season Thursday, posting 408 total yards in their 27-17 victory over the Packers. Rookie wide receiver Treylon Burks contributed 111 receiving yards, with his biggest reception of the night coming against Pro Bowl Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander.
