Tempers Rise In NFL Training Camps

The heat wasn’t the only thing rising in the NFL yesterday. Tempers flared during multiple training camp practices. Bills Quarterback Josh Allen and Defensive Tackle Jordan Phillips got into a scuffle after a play. Allen attempted to rush up the middle during a two-point conversion when Phillips accidentally bumped him. According to the New York Post, Allen went to walk away but proceeded to turn around and shove Phillips. Not touching the Quarterback during training camp is the No.1 rule.

The Falcons and Giants also got into scuffles yesterday. The Falcons had multiple fights yesterday on the defensive side. Defensive Tackles Anthony Rush and Jalen Dalton got into an altercation yesterday per Sports Illustrated. Shortly after Dalton got into a separate altercation with Right Tackle Germain Ifeldi. According to USA Today, Dalton was sent home and head coach Arthur Smith called practice off early.

The Giants also had a hot-headed moment between multiple players during their practice yesterday. As reported by NJ.com, the situation involved Offensive Lineman Shane Lemieux, and two Defensive Linemen, Leonard Williams and Dexter Lawrence. According to Audacy.com, Lemieux tackled Lawrence after a play which resulted in Williams pulling Lemieux off and slamming him to the ground. Though the scuffle wasn’t long, witnesses said it was violent. All incidents that occurred yesterday have seemingly been taken care of by the head coaches.
