Stephen Ross Reportedly Intends On Changing Ownership Succession Plan Of Miami Dolphins From Bruce Beal To Jennifer Ross
According to Ben Fischer of Sports Business Journal, Miami Dolphins Owner Stephen Ross has begun taking steps to keep ownership of the franchise within his family. Ross reportedly intends to change the succession plan from limited partner Bruce Beal to his daughter, Jennifer Ross. Beal is claimed to be seeking approval to ascend to controlling owner, but the process would halt if Ross’s plans for succession go through.
Ross and Beal were both punished by the National Football League for alleged tampering after the league finished its investigation into Brian Flores’ tampering allegations. Ross was relieved of all of his current committee assignments, which included the finance, media, international and legalized sports gambling committees. Beal was fined $500,000 and is prohibited from attending any league meetings through the end of the 2022 season. The punishment also included the Dolphins organization losing its 2023 1st-round pick and 2024 3rd-round pick.
