Russia Football Federation Drops Appeal Of World Cup Qualifiers Ban

Russia’s Football Federation has withdrawn their appeal against FIFA’s decision to exclude the country from World Cup qualifiers in March as a result of the nation’s military invasion of Ukraine.
Their protest to the ban was with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which was first dismissed on March 18. They had stated their intention to appeal, but that has now been withdrawn.
The Russian men’s squad will not play in the World Cup in 2022, while the Russian women’s team will not compete in the European Championships in England in 2022.
