Report: Seahawks’ Chris Carson Retires Due To Neck Injury, Eligible For Injury Protection Benefits
After playing in only four games in 2021, Seahawks running back Chris Carson is retiring from the NFL at the age of 27. Carson has been battling a neck injury for the past year, which Head Coach Pete Carroll hinted at back in June.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport tweeted that Carson is eligible to receive several million in injury protection benefits under the CBA, due to the Seattle Seahawks releasing him with a failed physical designation.
