Phoenix Suns’ Monty Williams Questions Foul Disparity in Game 4

After the New Orleans Pelicans won Game 4 118-103 on Sunday to even the first-round series at 2-2, Phoenix Suns coach Monty Williams made some sharp comments regarding the refereeing.
“You can slice it any way you want to,” Williams said post-game. “In a playoff game that physical, [the disparity] is amazing. Coaches shouldn’t have to come up to the microphone and feel like they’re going to get their heads cut off for speaking the truth.”
In the first half, the Pelicans attempted 42 free throws to the Suns’ 15, resulting in a 17-2 deficit. In what was a typical rough playoff game, the Suns were called for 12 more fouls.
