Former Raiders Coach Jon Gruden Suing NFL, Alleging a Campaign to Destroy his Reputation & Career

NFL Network Reporter Tom Pelissero broke the news on Twitter Friday afternoon, that former Raiders Coach Jon Gruden has filed a lawsuit in Nevada District Court against the NFL and Roger Goodell alleging that they sought to destroy his career and reputation through a “malicious and orchestrated campaign,” Gruden’s attorney told Pelissero.

The attorney representing Gruden is Adam Hosmer-Henner, who filed the complaint on Thursday in Clark County, Nevada. Gruden is reportedly seeking a whole host of damages and asserting seven claims.

In the suit, Gruden refers to the NFL’s “Soviet-style character assassination” saying “there was no warning and no process. Defendants held the emails for months until they were leaked to the national media in the middle of the Raiders’ season…to cause maximum damage to Gruden.”

The NFL told Pelissero, “the allegations are entirely meritless and the NFL will vigorously defend against these claims.”

League of Justice Founder Amy Dash wrote an in-depth legal analysis of the lawsuit, it’s allegations and why she thinks it could lead to the release of 650,000 emails from the Washington Football Team investigation that the NFL refused to make public. Click HERE for more.
