Former Los Angeles Chargers tight end Lance Kendricks was reportedly charged with alleged DUI after having been arrested in Santa Monica, California. According to police reports, his Ford Bronco was seen driving around wildly, early on Sunday morning. When police caught up with the vehicle, Kendricks was allegedly behind the wheel incapacitated. Police say the ex-NFL player “appeared drunk” when he woke up.

Police say they discovered that Kendricks had a blood alcohol level that was allegedly over the .08 legal limit after conducting a blood alcohol test on the former player. Kendricks was later released after being booked, processed and posting a $5,000 bail.

The 34-year-old began his NFL career with the Los Angeles Rams, who were known as the St. Louis Rams at the time he was drafted second-round in the 2011 NFL Draft. In his first six seasons with the Rams, Kendricks played in 137 games. Kendricks netted 244 receptions for 2,555 total receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.

This is not the first time Kendricks has run into legal trouble. In 2017, the former tight end was issued a six-month probation and received a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession. Kendricks was cited for having weed in his car after initially getting pulled over for a speeding violation. According to the police report, the officer could reportedly smell a “strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle.” As a result, the National Football League suspended him for one game in 2019.
