Grand Jury Votes Not To Indict Deshaun Watson on Nine Counts
It was reported on Friday after a hearing that Watson would not face criminal charges for alleged sexual assault.
The grand jury did not find enough to indict him on any of the 9 accusations. While he would not likely face charges, a prosecutor still has discretion to bring misdemeanor charges.
“As I’ve said, the criminal case is separate from the civil cases,” plaintiffs’ attorney Tony Buzbee said. “The criminal case doesn’t impact the civil case result (the OJ case is an example) The civil cases will continue to gather steam.
“We take Mr. Watson’s deposition again on Tuesday. We, of course, respect the criminal process,” Buzbee stated.
Today, in deposition, Watson plead the fifth in two cases, unrelated to those in front of grand jury.
