There is a new large player within multi-million dollar stadium naming rights, as well as within the sports world itself.- Cryptocurrency. The somewhat controversial digital currency is now a force within the sporting world, as evidenced by the recent 20-year, $700 million deal for the naming rights to the Los Angeles arena home to the Lakers, Kings and Sparks presently known as the Staples Center. These extravagant contractual agreements reflect a shift from the traditional players within the sporting profession, to a new age juggernaut, according to CNBC.
