NCAA Basketball: Georgetown at Creighton

While on an interview with Sportsnet 590 The FAN, Georgetown head coach Patrick Ewing stated that he would be fine if the NCAA decided to get rid of the handshake line altogether.

“I don’t like the handshake line. I don’t like it because anything is possible,” Ewing stated. “You’re just getting through a heated battle, a heated game and anything can happen to make things worse, which is what happened in that situation. If it’s my call, I think we should just take away the handshake line.”

After a timeout late in the game, Michigan coach Juwan Howard took offense and got into it with Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard and assistant Joe Krabbenhoft in the handshake line.

Howard was fined $40,000 by the Big Ten and suspended five games, which is the remainder of Michigan’s regular season before the Big Ten tournament.
