Lia Thomas Becomes First Transgender NCAA Champion

Lia Thomas, a transgender swimmer at UPenn who used to compete on the men’s team but now competes on the women’s team, won the women’s 500-yard freestyle championship. She became the first transgender NCAA D-I champion in any sport.
