J.R Smith made some sweeping accusations in an interview, claiming that he, Joe Johnson, Nick Young, and Isaiah Thomas have been blackballed by the NBA.

Smith spoke about his beliefs in-depth during an interview with complex sports.

When asked whether he feels he has been blackballed, Smith replied:

“Yeah, 100 percent…Anybody can sit here and tell you that that’s a fact.”

Smith has since transitioned to playing collegiate golf for North Carolina A & T where he was named the academic athlete of the year in the 2021-22 season.

Smith played in the NBA for 16 seasons and he was a two-time NBA Champion with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016 and with the Los Angeles Lakers in 2020. He also won the sixth man of the year award in 2013.

Johnson played in the NBA for 20 seasons and he was a 7-time all-star. Young played in the NBA for 10 seasons and won a championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2018. Thomas is currently in his 11th season in the NBA where he is a 2-time all-star. Thomas is now a free agent after playing last season with the Charlotte Hornets.
