Attorney Mark Geragos has reportedly informed ESPN that his client, former UFC Heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez, has pled not guilty to the charge of attempted murder. Velasquez has been detained since February 28th after allegedly shooting a gun into the vehicle of Harry Goularte, who Velasquez claims sexually molested his 4-year old son. Velasquez has been denied bail on three separate occasions.

Goularte was released on February 25th without bail after being arrested and charged with lewd or lascivious act upon a child under the age of 14.

Attorney Mark Geragos claims, “They’re trying to desperately run away from the fact that the system failed Cain. They don’t want to get into that. They want to try a case that’s divorced from reality.”
