Atlanta United Centerback Miles Robinson was reportedly arrested on Saturday by the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office. According to the Cobb County arrest records, Robinson has been charged with alleged misdemeanor theft by taking. Robinson reportedly is also a member of the United States men’s national team.

The records say that Robinson was arrested at 825 Battery Avenue in Atlanta on Saturday, just before 11 p.m. and was subsequently released after posting a $150 bond the following Sunday afternoon. Doug Roberson of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution says that Robinson allegedly refused to pay for a shot of liquor he had taken from a waitress at PBR Atlanta in The Battery, which is located just outside of Truist Park.

Atlanta United issued this statement:

“We are aware of a recent misdemeanor arrest involving Miles Robinson. We are continuing to gather all information related to the incident and will not have further comment at this time.”

The 25-year-old has not played with the team since he suffered a torn Achilles injury back in May. The injury is reportedly season-ending, and Robinson is likely to miss the World Cup, which is to be played in Qatar, later in the year. Robinson is the former #2 overall pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Robinson started 25 of his 26 MLS appearances last season, and was named to his first MLS All-Star team and second MLS Best XI.

Robinson also recorded his first career assist, back in May of 2021 against Nashville SC. Robinson made his first career MLS goal on November 7th at FC Cincinnati, and ranked second in the league in duel success rate (min. 100 duels) at 66.83 %. In addition, Robinson added to his accolades by becoming a finalist for Defender of the Year.
