Bob Baffert has filed a federal lawsuit against Churchill Downs Inc., according to Tim Sullivan of the Louisville Courier Journal, in an attempt to reverse his two-year exile from the legendary racetrack.

After Kentucky Derby winner Medina Spirit, who was trained by Baffert, tested positive for a drug, the two-year suspension was announced in June.

On top of that, Baffert is also facing a 90-day ban from Kentucky stewards, which is slated to start on March 8, but his lawyers filed a request in Franklin Circuit Court on Monday requesting a stay of the suspension by a court order or a temporary injunction.
