UPDATE: Alvin Kamara’s scheduled court hearing was on Wednesday, November 9th.

In addition to having his hearing pushed back an additional 60 days, the court judge has set the trial date for the running back. Kamara’s trial is scheduled for March 1, 2023. The chances of the Saints’ star player being suspended in 2022 reportedly are slim.

TMZ has obtained the footage which shows New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara allegedly punching and striking a man named Darnell Greene in February in Las Vegas during the Pro Bowl weekend.

The video shows a man that TMZ identified as Kamara allegedly taking Greene to the ground with a punch which then was followed by other people who were with Kamara stomping and kicking Greene. Sources close to Kamara’s camp claimed to TMZ that the video does not show the full story of the incident. The same sources have also accused Greene of inciting the situation by being hostile first.

Kamara is currently facing a lawsuit from Greene alleging significant physical harm from Kamara. Greene is suing Kamara for $10 million for the alleged physical harm Kamara caused. Greene retained the services of Houston based attorney Tony Buzbee. Buzbee recently represented more than two dozen women in sexual misconduct cases against Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson.

Buzbee is also involved in the case against free agent point guard Joshua Primo, who is being accused by former San Antonio Spurs psychologist Hillary Cauthen of exposing himself to her. Police say that Kamara admitted to punching Greene when speaking with officers. Kamara is due in court next week.

Kamara still has not faced any discipline from the NFL, and there have been no new reports saying that discipline will be announced at any point this season. The NFL normally conducts its own investigation and announces discipline after the criminal legal process concludes. Kamara has played in all eight games for the Saints this season. The running back was rumored to be traded, but such rumors were debunked by the Saints’ Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football, and Kamara himself.

Kamara was a third-round pick selected by the Saints out of Tennessee in 2017. He has gone to a Pro Bowl in each of his first five seasons in the league. The running back is a two-time all-pro and was the offensive rookie of the year in 2017. Kamara has rushed for over four-thousand yards and 70 touchdowns in his career. So far in the 2022 season, he has put together 413 yards with 3 total touchdowns. The Saints are currently 3-5 in 2022 and preparing to face Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football.
