A social media account on Twitter called BilsMafiaBabes turned a loss into a win for Bills fans. When news broke Tuesday that CB Tre’Davious White was placed on the Injured Reserved List, the group challenged Bills fans to donate to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana in White’s honor. Donations began pouring in, many for $27 to represent the fan favorite’s number.

In 48 hours, the Bills Mafia has raised more than $100,000 which will help people in Shreveport and the ArkLaTex and work to stop hunger in White’s hometown.

White is known for his charitable efforts. He distributed 1,000 Turkeys to needy families just before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Representatives from the Food Bank said that more than 3,600 donations have come in as a result of the campaign and they usually only get around 250 donations a month.

For each $27 dollars donated, $270 dollars worth of food is distributed to the hungry.

The social media group has been encouraging Charity for a while. Each month it selects a different player’s charity to support.

“Last month we supported the @ESanders_10 foundation as he does great things in Buffalo and this month we are partnering with @DionsDreamers,” the group wrote on Twitter.

If you’d like to participate, whether you’re a Bills fan or not, here is how to Donate. Click HERE and make the Donation in White’s name.
