The University of Tennessee has suspended linebacker William Mohan indefinitely. Mohan was arrested in connection to an alleged domestic disturbance. The woman, who has been identified as Mohan’s girlfriend, accused the linebacker of being “aggressive verbally and physically” during the alleged incident at the woman’s apartment.

According to Tennessee spokesperson Mike Wilson from Knoxville News Sentinel, the school is aware of the reported incident.

“We are aware of the recent arrest of football student-athlete William Mohan. He was immediately suspended indefinitely from all team activities.”

Wilson also says the woman claimed Mohan became angry after she refused his sexual advances. Mohan is also accused of choking her after grabbing her face, calling her derogatory names, & refused to leave the premises by standing on top of the bed. Mohan had reportedly left the apartment, but returned later that evening & passed out on his girlfriend’s couch. Police did not find Mohan at the apartment when they arrived at the scene, and a warrant for his arrest was later issued. Mohan has been charged with aggravated domestic assault.

The 20-year-old junior transferred to the University of Tennessee after his 2020 freshman year in Michigan. Mohan played in twelve games during his first year with the Volunteers as a reserve linebacker and special teams contributor, and recorded nine total tackles with the team. Mohan had his best game with the Vols during their season-opening victory over Bowling Green, recording four tackles as part of the special teams unit.
