Jake Bailey Becomes Second Highest Paid Punter With New Contract Extension
On Monday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported via tweet that the New England Patriots have reached an agreement with punter Jake Bailey on a contract extension. The Patriots are giving Bailey a four-year, $13.5 million contract that includes a $6.5 million guaranteed. Bailey is now under contract through the 2025 season.
Bailey now joins Commanders’ Tress Way & Seahawk’s Michael Dickson as one of the top three highest-paid punters in the National Football League. Dickson signed his 4-year extension with the Seahawks in 2021, earning $14.5 million in new money with $10.6 million earned over the first two years of his deal. Way signed his multi-year contract extension in 2019 and according to OverTheCap, the deal locks Way in through the 2026 season with $13.25 million in total value, $3.31 million per year and $6.4 million guaranteed. Bailey’s extension with the Patriots puts him just over Way as the 2nd highest paid punter in the league.
