IOC Intervened On China’s Behalf In The Investigation Of Peng Shuai’s Disappearance

Peng Shuai, a professional Chinese tennis player, disappeared from public view after posting allegations about a top Chinese official that allegedly sexually assaulted her. The Women’s Tennis Association repeatedly requested to speak to the Peng Shuai and demanded that China investigate the allegations. However, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appears to be the first organization outside of China to hear from the tennis player.
