In the case of Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, a grand jury will hear evidence on Friday, the same day he will face questioning for the first time in some of his ongoing civil claims.

Watson’s lawyer, Rusty Hardin, told ESPN that the criminal and civil cases would start on the same day, and that he’ll tell Watson to use his Fifth Amendment right not to incriminate himself during his civil court testimony on Friday.

Watson is accused of a variety of behaviors during massage appointments, ranging from groping women with his genitals to forcing oral sex, in 22 civil complaints.

While a decision on criminal charges may come as soon as Friday, Watson will be deposed for numerous days in the 22 current civil claims, and according to Hardin, each plaintiff can question him for up to two hours. (ESPN)

Watson is currently a trade piece that’s been talked about, and even linked with teams like the Commanders, Panthers, and Seahawks. Time will tell on whether Watson is eventually traded.
