Report: Deshaun Watson Possible Destinations Include Vikings And Buccaneers

NFL: Tennessee Titans at Houston Texans

It’s no secret that the Texans and Watson could be parting ways this offseason, after Watson did not play at all for Houston in the 2021 season.

According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Buccaneers and Vikings are among Watson’s early targets. Watson does have a no-trade clause in his contract, so he would have to approve of a trade if one is proposed.

With Tom Brady gone from the Buccaneers due to retirement and Kirk Cousins expected to be owed a lot of money this offseason, both teams could be looking to trade for a quarterback.

The Vikings could be looking to replace Cousins with an upgrade, as the team may be looking for a fresh start with the new regime in place. Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah could save around 35 million by trading the veteran QB this offseason.

Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians isn’t shy to let the ball fly and pick up big yardage through the air, so it seems like him and Watson could be a natural fit.

Watson is currently facing 22 civil claims for alleged sexual misconduct, as well as a criminal investigation by the Houston Police Department. No matter what comes from those investigations, Watson could face discipline from the NFL if the league finds that he violated its policies.
