Dean Spanos, the owner of the Los Angeles Chargers, has been accused by his sister of “misogynistic” behavior, “self-dealing,” and repeated “breach of fiduciary duty” in a lawsuit that deepens the siblings’ protracted court struggle over control of the franchise.

Attorneys for Dean’s sister, Dea Spanos Berberian, filed the case in San Joaquin County Superior Court on Thursday, demanding exclusive control of a family trust that owns more than one-third of the Chargers. The petition also requests that the court suspend and remove Spanos as a co-trustee, and it demands specific monetary damages for Berberian.
