Cardinals star wide receiver Deandre Hopkins spoke to reporters after training camp practice on Saturday, and spoke about how he wishes the NFL’s performance-enhancement drug policy wasn’t so “black and white”.

“I’ve never taken any of that kind of stuff. If you know about what it is, it can be in shampoo, it can be in a lot of different things. Obviously the NFL is very black and white, so of course, I wish the rule wasn’t so black and white. It is what it is. It’s hard to know when something gets contaminated at a trace amount when you’re not working at the manufacturing company.”

Hopkins is preparing to serve a six-game suspension for violating the NFL’s PED policy. The receiver claimed that the suspension was due to the 0.134% Ostarine being found in his blood with the threshold being 0.100%. Hopkins initially filed to appeal the decision, but later decided to the drop the appeal and would save those details for a later day.
