Brittney Griner’s Lawyer Says Griner Will Attend A Preliminary Court Hearing Behind Closed Doors

UPDATE: Griner’s custody was prolonged for another six months by a court in the Moscow suburb of Khimki after she appeared for a preliminary hearing behind closed doors. The Associated Press received photos of her in handcuffs. Griner had been ordered to be held in pretrial custody until July 2.

Brittney Griner, the WNBA star, will face a preliminary hearing in Moscow on Monday morning, according to her lawyer, Alexander Boikov.

According to Boykov, the court hearing took place behind closed doors on Monday at 7 a.m. ET and 2 p.m. local time in the Khimki municipal court just outside Moscow. Griner is due to appear in court.
