Brittney Griner Detained in Russia For An Alleged Crime That Carries A Maximum 10 Years In Prison
WNBA player Brittney Griner is currently being detained in Russia following customs officials allegedly finding hashish oil in her luggage at an airport near Moscow in February. Russian Federal Customs Service claimed that they found vape cartridges containing oils derived from cannabis in luggage they believed belonged to Griner. This crime carries a maximum of 10 years in prison.
Griner’s agent, Lindsay Kagawa Colas, had this to say ESPN, “As this is an ongoing legal matter, we are not able to comment further on the specifics of her case but can confirm that as we work to get her home, her mental and physical health remain our primary concern.”
