Baylor Athletic Director Mack Rhoades contract at the school has been extended 10 years.

Rhoades has been successful as AD so far in his tenure. Dave Aranda, who Rhoades hired, guided the Bears to a Big 12 championship and a Sugar Bowl win in 2021. Matt Rhule, who is now the Carolina Panthers head coach, was also hired by Rhoades.

In 2021, Baylor achieved its first men’s basketball national title, and in 2019, it claimed its first ever women’s basketball championship.

Rhoades was appointed as Baylor’s AD following a sexual assault investigation involving the football team and other programs. The scandal resulted in the dismissal of former head coach Art Briles and the resignation of former Athletic Director Ian McCaw.
