Medina Spirit, the 2021 Kentucky Derby winner died at the young age of three years old, far off from the average life expectancy of a modern domesticated horse, which is 25-30 years. Medina Spirit’s trainer was the legendary Bob Baffert. This now becomes at least the 75th horse to die under Baffert’s care since 2000.
